Burt County Jail Mugshots Online
No official Burt County online mugshot gallery, recent-bookings gallery, or county-hosted booking-photo roster was located in the reviewed sources. The Burt County Sheriff's Office page confirms that the sheriff manages the county jail, but it does not publish a public photo list. It links to state inmate search resources, which should not be read as a county mugshot tool.
The official Washington County Corrections Facility roster is important because Washington County states that it houses inmates from surrounding counties, including Burt County. The sample roster reviewed for this project included Burt County entries. It did not show booking photos. It was a text and table roster with name, charges, received date and time, housed or court-date field, date of birth, and bond or release information.
That distinction keeps the record search factual. A person may have been photographed during intake, but the absence of a public online image means the photo is not being offered through the roster channel reviewed here. The next step is not a commercial image search. It is a custody check, followed by a public-records request to the office that holds the booking record. The sheriff can also say whether the person was booked locally, sent to Washington County, released, or moved to another custody system.
Burt County Roster Photo Fields
The best documented sample record is the Washington County Corrections Facility PDF used for some Burt County detainees. Since no photo field was present, the inventory should be read as a record-limit table. It shows what can be checked before asking the sheriff whether a booking photo exists and whether it can be released through a records request.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking photo | No photo appeared in the Washington County PDF reviewed. |
| Name | Last name, first name, and sometimes a middle initial. |
| Charges | Plain-language charges, warrants, holds, sentenced status, or failure-to-appear labels. |
| Received date and time | When the person was received into the facility. |
| Housed or court date | Housing notation such as WCSO and, where listed, a court or release date. |
| DOB | Date of birth for identity matching. |
| Bond or release date | Money bond, ten-percent amount, cash amount, no-bond entry, ICE hold, or release date. |
| Physical description | Height, weight, race, sex, hair, and eye color were not shown in the PDF reviewed. |
Request Burt County Booking Photos
A booking photo request should be handled as a public-records question, not as a web search for a photo gallery. First confirm custody through the sheriff or the regional jail list. Then ask whether the photo is held by Burt County, Washington County, or another agency. If the person is now in state prison, the image in an NDCS profile may be an institutional photo, not the county booking photo from the arrest.
A good request is narrow. Give the full name, any known date of birth, the approximate arrest or booking date, and the agency involved if known. Ask for the booking photograph from that arrest and state whether an electronic copy is acceptable. If the response says the office does not hold the image, ask which facility or agency handled the booking. If access is denied, ask for the written denial and review notice required by Nebraska public-records law.
- Call the Burt County Sheriff's Office at (402) 374-2900 and ask whether the booking photo is held locally or by a housing facility.
- Email sheriff@burtcountyne.gov or submit a written request identifying the person, approximate arrest date, and requested booking photo.
- If the person was housed at Washington County Jail, use the official jail list to confirm the custody record before asking Washington County about its records process.
- Ask whether any redaction, juvenile restriction, active-investigation concern, or other legal limit applies.
- Request a written response if access is denied or delayed beyond the statutory response period.
The Burt County jail inmate records page covers the custody search chain that should come before a photo request.
Burt County Mugshot Public Records
Nebraska law does not, in the reviewed official sources, create a special rule requiring Burt County to post booking photos online. Online publication and public-record access are different. A sheriff's office can maintain a booking photo without displaying it in a public gallery. A written request asks the public body to decide whether the record is open, redacted, withheld, or not held by that office.
Key statutes:
Neb. Rev. Stat. 84-712 allows interested persons to inspect and copy public records unless another statute provides otherwise, and it sets the four-business-day written response rule.
Neb. Rev. Stat. 84-712.01 defines public records broadly for Nebraska public bodies.
Neb. Rev. Stat. 84-712.04 governs denial letters and the notice of review rights when access is denied.
Burt County Booking Photo Limits
The public can often obtain basic adult arrest information in Nebraska, but that does not mean every related image is posted online or released without review. The Nebraska State Patrol criminal history material noted in the research says adult arrest records are public in the RAP-sheet context, while juvenile arrests are not released on criminal history requests. Booking photos can also raise separate issues when a record involves juveniles, victims, active investigation facts, medical concerns, security concerns, or a sealed case.
The same distinction applies to timing. A text roster can show that a person was received, held, released, sentenced, or subject to a hold without making the intake photograph available. If a photo is needed for a lawful records purpose, ask for the image by record type and date rather than asking the jail to search the web. The custodian can then answer whether the record exists, who holds it, and whether any exception limits release.
What is and isn't public: The Washington County roster reviewed for Burt County holds showed text custody fields, not photos. A booking photo may require a records request, and release can be limited by law, redaction, or the agency that holds the image.
Washington County Mugshot Gap
The Washington County Corrections page states that the facility houses inmates from surrounding counties including Burt County. The Washington County current jail list links to a frequently updated PDF. The reviewed PDF showed Burt County rows, including sentenced Burt County entries and a Burt County hold. That confirms the regional search path, but the PDF did not provide a mugshot gallery.
The Washington County roster image in the project comes from the official jail list page.
The list page supports custody checking for Burt County holds, but it should not be described as a photo roster.
NDCS Photos Are Different
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services incarceration records search covers sentenced state prisoners. It can be searched by last name or DCS ID, with first name available as a narrowing field. NDCS records may include an institutional photo, current prison facility, sentence data, offense data, and release information. That is not the same as a Burt County booking photo from a jail arrest.
A person who has moved from Burt County custody to NDCS has passed into a different record system. The county roster or Washington County PDF may stop being the best source for current custody. The state record may be useful for prison location, but it will not show county bond, local booking time, jail visit status, or a county mugshot gallery.
Federal Mugshot Search Limits
No Bureau of Prisons facility or ICE detention center was located in Burt County in the reviewed official sources. The BOP inmate locator is for federal sentenced or prior federal custody. The ICE Online Detainee Locator searches immigration custody by A-number or biographical data. Neither locator should be presented as a county-style mugshot source.
Federal pretrial matters can involve the U.S. Marshals Service District of Nebraska, and federal detainees may be housed in contract facilities. Even then, a public BOP or ICE result normally answers custody or location questions, not Burt County jail booking-photo questions. If a Washington County roster entry shows ICE HOLD, that means the person may still be locally housed while an immigration hold exists.
Burt County Mugshot Removal
No Burt County online mugshot-removal process was located because no Burt County online mugshot gallery was found. If a charge is dismissed, sealed, set aside, or otherwise subject to a court order, the records question should start with the court case and the agency holding the record. Nebraska research for this project identified Neb. Rev. Stat. 29-3523 as the criminal history record removal and sealing context.
Removal from outside websites is a separate issue from sheriff records. Burt County does not control outside publishers, and no outside mugshot sites are needed to search official Burt County custody records. For charge outcomes after a booking, use Burt County court records after jail arrest and confirm any sealing or set-aside order with the court that entered it.
If a court order changes access to a case, keep a copy of the order when contacting records custodians. The sheriff or jail may need the case number, disposition date, and exact language of the order before changing how a related record is handled. A dismissal alone does not prove that every related record must disappear from every system. The controlling question is what Nebraska law and the court order require for the specific record.
